Answers to common questions about PosturaScreen: how it works, how accurate it is, what happens to your photos, and what the plans cost.
About PosturaScreen
What is PosturaScreen?
PosturaScreen is a browser-based posture screening and tracking tool for individuals and practitioners. One full-body front or side photo starts a private report, and adding the second view gives all 17 posture metrics. It is a screening tool, not a diagnostic device. Read more about PosturaScreen.
Is PosturaScreen the same as PostureScreen Mobile?
No. PosturaScreen (posturascreen.com) is a browser-based posture screening tool: upload a front and/or side photo and get a posture report with up to 17 metrics. It is not affiliated with PostureScreen Mobile by PostureCo. See PosturaScreen plans and prices.
Is PosturaScreen a diagnostic device?
No, PosturaScreen is a posture screening and tracking tool, not a diagnostic or medical device. It produces measurements for tracking posture over time and for informing a conversation with a licensed physiotherapist, physician, or chiropractor. A diagnosis requires a clinician who can combine the measurements with a physical examination and history. Read what PosturaScreen is and is not.
When should I see a clinician about my results?
See a licensed physiotherapist, physician, or chiropractor when pain is persistent, limits normal activity, is getting worse, follows an injury, or comes with numbness, weakness, dizziness, vision changes, or balance problems. A flagged metric is a screening signal, not a diagnosis, and a report that looks normal cannot rule out an injury or medical condition. Read what to do after a posture screen.
Can I use PosturaScreen for children?
PosturaScreen is designed for screening adults, because the normal ranges in the report are adult reference values. See who PosturaScreen is for.
How it works
How does PosturaScreen work?
You upload a full-body front or side photo, or both, and PosturaScreen returns a posture report. An AI pose model finds 17 body keypoints in each photo, and each metric is then a fixed geometric formula, such as an angle or an offset, computed from those keypoints. Analysis usually takes about five seconds after upload; the first run can take up to about 30 seconds while the service starts. See how each metric is computed.
Do I need both a front and a side photo?
No, one full-body photo is enough to start. A front photo gives the 11 front-view metrics and a side photo gives the 6 side-view metrics. Add the second view to get all 17. Read the step-by-step guide.
What are the 17 posture metrics?
The 17 metrics are 11 front-view and 6 side-view measurements of the head, shoulders, spine, pelvis, and knees. Front view: Head Tilt, Shoulder Level, Clavicle Angle, Chest Symmetry, Arm Position, Waist Angle, Pelvic Level, Knee Alignment, Foot Position, and Q Angle (left and right). Side view: Forward Head, Ear-Shoulder, Thoracic Kyphosis, Lumbar Lordosis, Pelvic Tilt, and Knee Angle. Each metric is shown with a normal range and flagged when it falls outside it. See what each metric measures.
How accurate is PosturaScreen?
PosturaScreen measurements are screening estimates from 2D photos, best used to track change in the same person over time rather than as exact clinical values. Published studies support the repeatability of photographic posture measurement, and a 2025 study found that AI-based 2D estimates correlate with X-ray measures without matching them. Each photo is checked for clarity and full-body coverage, and the report shows a photo-quality notice if a check fails. The check does not detect camera tilt, so keep the phone level yourself. Read the methodology and the studies behind it.
What does the approx tag mean?
The approx tag marks the five metric types that a single 2D photo can only estimate: Forward Head, Thoracic Kyphosis, Lumbar Lordosis, Pelvic Tilt, and Q Angle (left and right). These metrics estimate a 3D angle or a spinal curve from a flat photo, so body rotation and surface contour affect the absolute value. Use them to follow change in the same person over time, not as a substitute for an X-ray. Saved reports label them Estimated. Read why these metrics are estimates.
How do I take good posture photos?
Put the camera at about hip height and level, stand about 2–3 metres away so your whole body fits from head to feet, and wear fitted clothing. Use a plain wall and even light, stand relaxed, and keep the same setup for every repeat photo so that a change reflects you rather than the camera. Read how to take posture photos.
Privacy and your photos
Are my photos private?
Yes, photos are kept in private, encrypted storage and shown only through time-limited links. Each account’s data is isolated from other accounts. PosturaScreen does not sell your data and does not use clients’ photos to train models without explicit, separate consent. Read the privacy policy.
What happens to a screen I run without an account?
A screen without an account expires 24 hours after it is created, and its photos, report, and temporary records are then deleted automatically. You can delete them sooner from the result page. If you choose to save the report to an account, it is kept under the account rules instead. See how long data is kept.
Can I delete my saved data?
Yes, you can delete clients, assessments, and photos from within the app at any time. To delete your whole account and its data, email privacy@posturascreen.com. See your privacy rights.

What do I need to use PosturaScreen?
PosturaScreen runs in any modern web browser on a computer or phone, with no app to install. You can upload a photo on the device you are using, or scan a private QR code to take the photos with your phone. The QR link expires after 30 minutes. Read the step-by-step guide.
