How PosturaScreen writes, sources, and updates its educational content — and how to flag a mistake when we make one.

Our editorial mission

PosturaScreen publishes educational content about posture, ergonomics, and the technology behind quantified posture screening. The content is intended for general awareness and to help readers understand what PosturaScreen measures. It is not medical advice and does not replace a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Every article that touches health concepts carries an explicit disclaimer to that effect.

Who writes our content

Articles are produced by the PosturaScreen Editorial Team. The team is composed of the company founders and product staff — engineers and movement-science enthusiasts. Our voice as authors is "informational and technical," not "clinical authority." When you read a PosturaScreen article, you are reading from people who build a posture screening tool, not from licensed clinicians.

Medical review

We are honest that PosturaScreen does not have the resources of a large medical publisher. Our articles are not currently reviewed by an external licensed clinician. They are written by the PosturaScreen team from the cited sources; product claims follow our published methodology. If that changes, the reviewer will be named on each reviewed article and this page will be updated first.

Because of this, articles are written as definitional, descriptive, or technical content — explaining what something is, what the research literature reports, or how our tool measures it — and avoid prescriptive medical advice (treatment plans, symptom-to-diagnosis decisions, exercises presented as a fix for a condition). We would rather publish less prescriptive content than publish unsupervised prescriptive content.

Source standards

When we cite a medical or scientific claim, we cite primary or near-primary sources. Acceptable sources, in rough order of preference:

• Peer-reviewed papers on PubMed, Nature, BMJ, JAMA, Spine, Journal of Physical Therapy Science, and similar.
• Government health agencies: NIH, NHS, CDC, AAOS, AAP, WHO.
• Reputable medical institutions: Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, MedlinePlus.
• Professional association statements (APTA, ACA, etc.).

We avoid: secondary health blogs, supplement-vendor sites, and any source that mixes editorial content with affiliate links. Every external citation is linked inline so the reader can verify our framing.

Updates and date stamps

Every article displays a "Published" date and, when substantively revised, an "Updated" date. Our policy:

• Articles describing the PosturaScreen product or measurement methodology are updated whenever the product changes meaningfully (new metrics, updated thresholds, new features).
• Articles touching health concepts are revisited when we learn of material new research or of an error.
• When we make a substantive correction, the article's "Updated" date changes.

Conflict of interest

PosturaScreen is a commercial product. Articles that mention competitor or alternative tools will state that fact in a single-line disclosure near the top of the article. We do not pay for placements, do not run affiliate programs in articles, and do not accept payment for editorial coverage. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first.

Corrections policy

We make mistakes. If you find one:

1. Email support@posturascreen.com with the article URL and the specific claim you believe is wrong, including a source if you have one.
2. We will reply within 72 hours with a position: either we agree and will correct, we disagree and will explain why, or we need more time to investigate.
3. When we correct, we fix the article and its "Updated" date changes.
